Exploring KALASH Valley

Kalash valley:

If you're not familiar with this valley and its people, I'll tell you about my travels there and the things I learned from the locals and witnessed during their celebrations. I went there and learnt a lot about their culture. Because I've heard that this location is well-known for a variety of things and I'm interested in learning more about the caste, religion, and culture of the locals.

The Kalash Valley is located in Chitral on Pakistan's northern coast. In the Kalash mountain range, the population is primarily Hindu. This civilization has several distinctive features, such as a distinct language and culture. In the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, adherents of the Kalash faith make up a small minority. They have faith in 12 gods and goddesses. Despite having a different religion from the Muslims in their area, they were not antagonistic to them. They observe their holiday in a unique way.

Kalash natives are easily recognized by their white skin, golden hair, and blue eyes. Their women wore incredibly stunning long, black, embroidered dresses. In contrast to other cultures, they wore a specific form of bread necklace. The native language of these population is Dardic.

Best time to visit.

The best time to visit that location is during festival season because during that time all of the locals come together to celebrate their festivals and represent their culture. Tourists can learn about their culture, way of life, and methods for maintaining their health during this time, and they may also make new cultural friends.

What is the ideal accommodation in Kalash Valley?

The Kalashas inhabit three valleys in Chitral:

  • Bumburet:

Tourists should visit Bumburet, particularly the graveyard. You might not feel particularly at ease there, but this area is quite unique; there are some unique customs regarding dead bodies; previously, they were not buried because they were worried that this might spread some kind of disease, but now you can find comfort and peace there. Only 25% of males and 18% of women in this state are educated. There are only 2 elementary schools. There may be some dubious circumstances there, but you go there for the sake of your expertise and knowledge.

  • Rumbur:

Although this valley is not as developed as Bumburet, the locals there are very helpful. They will carry your luggage and assist you if you become lost or stuck somewhere. The guesthouse in Rumber offers you a proper homemade meal that is delicious and is served to you so well that it makes your heart happy. They also serve homemade wine to tourists.

  •  Birir valley:

The valley of Birir The majority of the population there, in contrast to Bumburet, are Kalashas, and the rituals and traditions there are the ones that are most similar to those of the original occupants. Because the valley is remote from Ayun and Chitral, there are very few amenities there. However, one may stay in guest rooms constructed inside of people's homes.

Recommendations:

It's a good idea to make plans in advance and conduct some research on the Kalash Valley's attractions and activities in order to make the most of your trip there. Visit the Kalash Museum, see the Bumburet and Rumbur Valleys, and sample the regional food, among other things to do in the Kalash Valley, according to some locals. Additionally, you ought to make an effort to speak with locals and discover more about their particular way of life.

The Kalash people are renowned for being friendly and hospitable, and they are always delighted to share their culture and traditions with guests.
