The remaining historic areas of Taxila are in the modern city of Taxila, which is located about 30 kilometers outside of Islamabad. It may take between 40 and 60 minutes to drive to Taxila from Islamabad, depending on your location and traffic. This makes it a straightforward road journey from Islamabad.

 TIME TO VISIT Taxila:

Anytime you visit this location, you'll find a wealth of educational materials and events that will advance your knowledge. There is a sizable central library housed there, which is beneficial for students.

Places to visit:

  • Taxila Museums.

Additionally, the optimum time to visit is from 9 to 4, when both the Taxila complex and the greatest times to visit museums are open. One of the main attractions in Taxila is the Taxila Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts and documents related to the history and culture of the city. The museum is a great place to learn about the city's past and understand its cultural significance.


The Taxila Historical Center, Dharmarajika, Sirkap, and Mohra Moradu are the four important locations in Taxila. These locations are widely dispersed throughout the city. There are no bus services, leaving visitors with only two options for getting around Taxila by car or on foot.


Even though exploring Taxila on foot would take a lot of time, you might save a few hundred rupees. Try it if you have most of the day to spend in Taxila but be aware of the heat in the summer.


  • Margalla  Hills:

Taxila is a cultural and historical attractions, Taxila is also home to a number of beautiful natural sites. The city is located in the Margalla Hills, which are home to a number of hiking trails and picnicking areas. The hills offer beautiful views of the surrounding area and are a great place to enjoy the outdoors.




  • Local markets and bazaars:

If someone were to travel to this region, they would have the opportunity to visit both Pindi and Islamabad as well as Taxila, and the trip would only take a few hours.
